Either don't have conversations with your friend that's related to weight loss and fitness, or disassociate that person as a "friend". Be wise, continue to listen to your doctor and get fit and healthy. I'm rooting for you, OP
I suspect that said friend could also stand to lose weight and is in denial over the fact.
I first read this as "believes the Earth is fat." What does that say about me?
Let me guess, the only thing about the friend that is flat other than the pulse line on empathy and support? Btw, kudos OP. I’m overweight due to poor eating habits (there, I said it) combined with a back injury, and it is hard, but i’ve done it before losing 100lbs (240lbs -> 140lbs) in the past. It’s doable and i’m trying it again, but rest assured, you will feel a lot better and have more energy afterweight loss. It’s also better to find friends which align with your needed supports, even better if you can challenge someone who also is looking to lose weight. In the past, i lost weight cutting out sugar, most carbs (went with complex, it’s harder to turn in fat) and exercise doesn’t make you lose weight, but does make you happier and the body more efficient. I lost my weight on diet alone, but it does help joints and energy. So think high protein and really portioning any kind of sweets (like 1/4th). Allow your self to forgive yourself if you relapse and keep at it!
Tell me more about this Fat Pride movement. It sounds a lot easier than dieting!
