Today, I went to the doctor to try and get answers about the numbness and tingling in my right leg. The Dr told me I was too fat for my pants, and I pinched a nerve. FML

i've actually read about something like that, and it doesnt necessarily mean you're fat/too big for your pants. anything tight on your leg, like leggings or skinny jeans or just tight/fitted jeans in general can pinch your nerve, causing the numbness and tingling you described. its rare, but becoming more and more common. hope that makes you feel better :)

I think that was a line from the extended dance version of "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. I'm too chubby for my pants. . .

You sound like a plumpa humpa in the making!

You took the words out of my mouth...

exactly! I'm 110 pounds and I had to bend down in skinny jeans (not extremely tight) to tie my nephews shoe and I pinched a nerve.

Yeah but how tall are you? 110 is pretty big if your 5'...

You're seriously going to hound someone barely over 110 lbs? Are you missing the point of this entirely or looking for reasons to harass someone?

So you are, in essence, whining that you do NOT have a sever medical condition, like one that could possibly require life threatening surgery. I . just . don't . get . people . like . . you. No care, no vote.

That's not the point, Dumbo. The point is that the doctor is a quack and a jerk. I don't get people like you...

the doctor is a "quack" for telling the guy he is fat? what do you want the doctor to do, lie and say he's skinny or use a different term like "plump little ball of love?" I hate oversensitive fat people. Go drown yourself in a tub of Ben and Jerry's while talking about how skinny girls are bitches.

Ok, first of all, I'm a guy. Second of all, I'm skinny as a rail. Third, if I were a doctor, I wouldn't take it upon myself to be insulting to my patients or give them completely stupid diagnoses; I would be polite and honest, so I could keep my job. So if you think I'm oversensitive, maybe you're right. But your attempt to one-up me completely failed. Go sound stupid on some other post.

What? How is telling someone that they are too fat for their jeans "rude and a stupid diagnosis"? What are you gonna say? "Um, sir, your weight exceeds the amount that your jeans are designed to hold"? I mean jesus, talk about having a stick up your ass. There is nothing unprofessional about saying what the doctor said. Plus, the OP probably summarized what the doctor said anyway.

Being rude is considered unprofessional in most places, buddy. At least where I come from. And also, weight has nothing to do with your jeans being too tight. Pants don't support you, they cover you. Unless that was just the wrong choice of words. If I were the doctor, I would say, "Why don't you try a size larger jeans? Maybe they'll be more comfortable." that way, you're being polite and honest and the same time. Besides, who says he's too fat for his pants? (assuming the OP is a guy.) He said that he felt numbness in his leg. That doesn't necessarily mean that he's too big for his pants, which is why I said it was a stupid diagnosis. If you're gonna attempt to argue, at least make it sensible.

Actually, genius has a sensible argument. If the doc said "Try a bigger size" then the OP wouldn't get that it was the pants causing the problem, and would think the doctor was making an offhand comment... which would actually be more insulting because he would see that he was offhandedly telling him he was overweight, rather than saying that's his problem. And, again, this is a summarized account. We don't know how long the OP was there, or what the doctor did to get to the diagnosis, so you can't assume it's a "stupid diagnosis." We also don't know if the doctor actually suggested that might be the problem, rather than saying it was. After all, OP could be sensitive or one of those idiots who take suggests to mean that's the only possible thing it could be (you'd be surprised how many of those there are....)

When I said, "try a bigger size," what I meant was, he should say, "You have a pinched nerve. This is sometimes caused by wearing too tight of pants. Why don't you try a bigger size and see if it's better?" And by "stupid diagnosis", I meant that the diagnosis made the doctor sound stupid. I can only go off of what the OP wrote. Sorry that I didn't make myself clear on that. And also, it's perfectly normal to be sensitive about something like weight, so of course there would be a lot of "people like that." We're all sensitive about one thing or another, so we have to be careful what we say.

Ah, okay. And by a lot of people like that, I meant a lot of people who would take a simple suggestion to be their only option. Obviously there are tons of sensitive people in the world, or else we wouldn't have those mushy love movies (not exactly the same kind of sensitivity, I know, but still)

Absolutely. I know where you're coming from. We ought to tell that to the jerks up there who are calling the OP a fatass and the like. That's just mean.

you aren't too fat for your pants, your pants are too small for you...

don't worry about it, just workout a little and you'll be good as new.

it doesn't mean that he/she is fat. it means that they bought the wrong size pants. go up a size. no big deal. and if you are overweight, eat healthier and exercise. you will feel better. 8]

You love miley cyrus, your point is invalid.

Good point! No point of a Miley Cyrus lover can be taken seriously!
