Today, not even a week after I was laid off from my job, I got a call from my old boss. He offered me a "new" job at the company, which turned out to be just like my old one, but with drastically reduced pay. I'm so broke and desperate that I accepted. FML

Don't worry :) just take it for now and look for new opportunities and then make a dramatic exit when you find a better place

making dramatic exits can come back to bite you. I'd suggest leaving quickly and quietly so as not to hurt your reputation :)

Start looking for a new job. The sooner the better.

I understand why you took it back but you boss is a complete douche. Really hate how companies do this.

Tough world out there, you did the right thing OP and I agree ^ Good luck finding a new job.

That's messed up OP. Don't just stick around at that job. Start looking elsewhere and get your old level of income back.

No the smart thing to do would be to rejoin and then look for a new place to work. Hard to tell how long it's going to take, and it's best to have a source of income while you search.

That's good OP! Now you have a job to support you while you look for a better one. Best of luck!

That has to be illegal. But tough to fight. :( I'd suggest keep looking for a new job while you work this one to keep your bills paid. You don't deserve to be jerked around like that, no one does.

Is illegal. It's called: making someone redundant for an unjust cause. In new Zealand, he would get 60,000 out of the company for damages

You never know it could be a blessing in disguise keep your chin up

By blessing you mean a kick to the face, right?

So sorry to hear buddy, but please use it as a backup and find a better one while u r still working there.. Coz u don't know when they would do the same to u again... Good luck buddy

A job is a job, and it's better than having no income, is it not?
