Actually... yeah, you can have a baby with significantly darker skin than either parent. Skin color relies on multiple parts of your DNA, and a baby can wind up with all of the genes for dark skin that both parents are carrying, as opposed to having the same amount as one of the parents or having skin that's a mid point between the two.
There are obviously limits to that, so if it's a huge difference, your issue still stands, but don't be surprised if a court wants to compare the DNA to you.
