Today, I went on my first date. Everything went great until I went to brush my date's hair over her ear like they do in the movies. I poked her dead in the eye. FML

You must have some seriously bad depth perception or hand eye coordination. FYL

From being on FML as long as I have...Ive learnt it's never good to try to be perfect or like what they do in movies. It's better to go at your own pace.

Or he was nervous? This was his first date after all.

First dates are always so awkward. At least he made it to the movie with her, and she didn't leave as they stood in line lol

He didn't say they went to the movies, #12.

Precision (sp) is not the same as accuracy.

Unless of course he had to rush her into hospital... :$

Depends on how hard OP poked the girl's eye, and the girl's reaction to it.

i got elbowed in the face on my first date. i suppose it's a way of breaking the ice

I was on the receiving end of that a while ago. I couldn't stop laughing

Was your picture taken right after it happened?

I stroked my girlfeiend's hair back once and she melted. It works if you don't screw it up. Or it could just be little 12 year old girls....

Well, with the way things turned out, he's more like a Smooth Criminal than anything.

Just laugh it off. If she dumps you because of that, she is not worth it.

Indeed. I've done the same thing OP and we ended going out for two years. Not a deal breaker!

And that's when you kiss her eye and then her lips to 'make it all better', if you know what I'm saying ;)

You should teach classes on how to be smooth on first dates! Or write blog that's a thing now a days

Yh and lesson number one is to never tell other people how to find their own mojo, they have to discover it themselves...

Great relationships always get off to a bad start. When your date sees you at your worst without scaring them off, things can only get better. Your bond always strengthen when foolishness/vulnerability is shown.

I knew someone who crashed their date's car on the first date and they ended up getting married

^ That's awesome, and really considerate of the date after that much cost

Who lets someone drive their car on the first date?
