Miscommunication

Today, my dad heard that the guy who bullied me at school died recently of a drug overdose. For some reason, he thinks we were actually best friends, and thinks I'm doing drugs too. I'm now not allowed out of the house except to go to school. He won't listen to a word I say. FML

Make it clear to your dad why you hated his guts

My knee-jerk advice would be to prove that you're telling the truth via a drug test, but that would basically turn your home into a police state. I'm sorry, OP. Stick to your story. The truth will out. =/

It's funny how you're still tormented by your bully even after his death. Bull level: afterlife

OP might also want to prove his innocence with a drug test?

Yea...even in death the bully still makes OP suffer

actually thayd be perfect. itd be worth it to teach your dad.

@30 And then next time he has to "prove" something to his dad? Then what? Not only does it set up a system of "guilty until proven innocent," it also erodes any implicit trust between parent and child. On a macro scale, it's basically safety vs. freedom. If he gives up his "rights" now, what will he have left in the future. tl;dr: Bro's going to have to pee in a cup every day he lives with his dad.

#43 I feel like you are extremely overreacting. Who cares if he has to "prove his innocence". That would be a lot better then being grounded for no reason.

Dude you need to straight up tell your dad he was a dick to you and you were never friends with him, and if that doesn't work I guess you're out of luck

It's a parent, they don't usually reason like that...

he thinks you came down with the bully version of stockholm syndrome.

Obviously he gave himself a concussion with a wooden plank prior to hearing about this. That would explain the stupidity/memory loss.

Try getting a friend to vouch for you. Or get a drug test if it's that bad.

Thats horrible. I hope you can convince him to believe you.

Plot twist: OP killed the guy and covered it up with a "drug overdose"

Try to talk to your mom, if that's possible? Maybe she can help him see some sense. If you only live with your dad, well.. Good luck. FYl
