Crossed purposes

Today, my duty manager demanded we close the bar early because she wanted to go home. I was subject to abuse from customers for closing early, then shouted at by the duty manager for not being done. My actual bar manager fired me for closing early. FML

completely unfair dismissal, I'm positive you can put a complain in for that.

Tell him what happened and your duty manager will get what they deserve!

sry op sucks to lose a job due to others neglagence

I see you are from the UK. Make sure you utilise your rights to an unfair dismissal trial. That's not fair. Why should you be fired for following orders?

Is there no way to get the bar owner to listen? And next time if someone else wants to do something you don't agree with let them do it on their own and continue your job cause there are always going to be crappy coworkers and managers out there.

Always listen to the one that has the power to fire you

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Screw that bar. Looks like they are managing it to the ground

YDI, you knew better than to close early. YOU should have either called your manager about closing early or told off the duty manager. No pity from me.

You should of just told the duty manager that you're staying because that's what you get paid to do

There has to be more to the story for your firing
