Honesty

Today, I was trying on wedding dresses with my future sister-in-law who is a little bigger than me. We tried on a similar dress and she said it looked better on me because I'm skinny. Instead of saying, 'No way' or 'It looks great on you', I accidentally said 'Yeah, I know'. FML

I'm not sure how you could look at the dress while you were busy putting your foot in your mouth.

Weight doesn't define people. You can lose/gain lots of weight in just a year. She shouldn't feel too bad.

I know, it’s so lame that we are so deeply hung up on body weight, with near emaciated as some kind of universal beauty standard 🙄🙄🙄

Oh come on, at least she won't end up squeezed into something too small, as many bigger brides do.

How do you accidentally act like a total bitch...

I think us guys see this as much less insulting than the girls do XD

My sis and I have the same issue with jeans :p

Wow, how nice of you to insult her like that so now she will likely feel more self conscious, great sister in law you are.

What you said wasn't bad, just the way you said it. Maybe it would have been better to say "Maybe, but I'm sure we'll find a dress that looks great on you too."

Sorry, the only problem I see is her lack of self-esteem. Skinny =/= pretty.
