Today, after 4 days of using anti-itch cream for what pharmacists and nurses have called “an allergic reaction”, I was diagnosed with shingles. FML

Pharmacists and Nurses are not doctors. I come from a family of nurses, and while we know a lot, we don’t know everything. Should have gone to the Doctor sooner. Make sure you tell everyone you are contagious. Good luck.

Shingles sucks. I had it 26 years ago. See if you can get a prescription for an antiviral drug like Zovirax or something newer. My shingles were gone in a week or two, unlike my dad who had them several years before for six weeks. Of course, he was a lot older than I was when he had it, so he may have also had a weaker immune system.
