Self confidence

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, my parents and I were looking through old photos. My dad comments, "Wow you were chubby back then. But that's ok, it was baby fat." Then he turns to me and asks, "What's your excuse now?" FML

Oooh, that was harsh. Parents are pretty inconsiderate sometimes. I know people are going to say, 'It was just a joke, lighten up'. But jokes like that can really hurt people's self esteem.

im fairly sure he's joking and this isnt anything to get upset about

Dad's an asshole... He didn't even have to say that or bring it up... And thank #2. It's not ok even if it was a joke n maybe you should tell him that it hurt your feelings.

A) it was a joke and you need to learn to take some every once in awhile B) if he wasn't joking, then he is an ass, but perhaps take it as a hint to lose weight C) if he wasn't joking and you are happy with your body then this is truly an FML it all depends on the context and how you feel about yourself

Sorry, but a joking insult is NOT an FML moment.

really? has no one else heard this before? cause i know i have... not only is this not an FML because its a joke, but its also something someone came up with a long time ago and did not happen to the person who posted this
