Today, at 4:00 a.m., I woke up and realized that I had thrown an expensive gift certificate for a friend in the garbage. Since it was garbage day, I ran out in the rain in my pajamas and rifled through all three bags of garbage. Twice. I found the gift certificate. It was in my pocket. FML

Today, on my lunch break, I ran to the gas station, and threw some trash away on my way in. On my way out, I realized my keys were missing. Thinking I threw them away, and fearing that I'd be late returning to work, I tore through the disgusting trash only to find my keys on the seat of my car. FML

Today, I went to drop the garbage in the compactor as I left to do some shopping. I quickly put my handbag down on the side, threw the 'garbage' in the machine, watched it do its thing, and then turned round to find... the bag of garbage on the side. FML

Today, it's garbage day. My mom accidentally threw away a receipt she needed to return something and told me to go get it. While I was looking for it, a cop gave me hell for "stealing recyclables on private property." This all happened in my front lawn. FML

Today, I couldn't find my phone. Worried that I'd accidentally thrown it in the trash, I emptied out all the bins and searched the garbage. An hour later, my daughter said she'd found it by the bathroom sink. FML

Today, I ran out of moving boxes so I used a few garbage bags to pack up my clothes. My new roommate decided to be helpful by putting those green garbage bags in the dumpster. It was garbage day. FML

You guys are idiots "woh wud put an ekspenziv gift sertifikat in teh garbage?!?!oneone" She didn't leave it in the garbage on purpose. With something tiny like a gift certificate, it's totally possible to forget about it in the bag and throw the bag out, especially if you've bought other things. Either that or, like other people have said, it was the middle of the night, she woke up, and she was confused. It happens. Also, she wasn't necessarily wearing her clothes to bed. I still call my pocket 'my pocket' after I have taken that article of clothing off. Idiots.

What do you mean you'd 'left it in the garbage'?! You put it there for safe-keeping? Just be glad you found it! Time well-spent for something expensive, right? What if it had been taken away, and you realized it after the fact? Trust me, that'd hurt more than rifling through trash and finding it in your pocket.

alright 1. u deserve it. 2. who cares? 10 minutes of showering and scrubbing will get rid of all that! 3. it was at 4 a.m., no one was watching it was in the dark, it couldve been worse, ur neighbor couldve been watching you and be thinking u were weird as sh*t. Whatever man, u deserved that one.
