Today, I babysat for a woman for the first time. When I arrived, there was a large pile of dishes in the sink. I decided to wash the dishes for her while the kids napped. She came home, noticed it, and bitched me out over how I'd only done it "to try and get more money" out of her. What? FML

Yeah because somehow, you doing her dishes sucks the cash right out of her wallet.

Next time don't do anything and leave the house a mess. Then when she gripes you out, remind her of this occasion. Kind of hard to have it both ways.

I get you. This summer, I babysat two kids from 9-5. The parents get back 8-9 ish. I texted her and said I would like to stay an extra hour or two, so the kids weren't alone for so long, and I'd do it for free. She still bitched at me. XD crazy moms.

Just to be sure that I'm reading you correctly, you babysit from 9AM-5PM, but the parents don't get home until at least 8PM? If I had kids young enough to need a sitter, I'd love a sitter that offered to work longer just to make sure they were okay.

And if you'd left them, she would have complained about you being a slob. Some people just set you up to fail in any case.

I am thinking a previous babysitter asked for extra for cleaning around the house hence the snapping at you, OP. Still I think she could've handled that a lot better even if that was the case.

Next time let the bitch clean her own shit.

I wouldn't come back to her house ever again after that happened.

I done the same thing for my boss lady and she was thankful they were washed but she then proceeded to get on to me because that was not my responsibility. My boss is the greatest!!

I remember my babysitter/neighbor would help put dishes away in the sink or dishwasher just to be nice and so it wasn't piling up.
