Depends what you have and what packaging it has. We still have frozen vegetables and stuff from 2007 and other stuff from that time that is still pretty good. Granted the quality lacks but still good enough to eat.
For all of those with an opinion - this is from the FDA website "Because freezing 0° F (-18° C) keeps food safe indefinitely, the following recommended storage times are for quality only." You can google it yourself.
I was cleaning the freezer and found products expired in 2009....
Haha sucks next time put the dates on all the bags when you freeze them so you know what spoiled and what's still good! Funny though !
depends on the type of freezer you have frost-free freezers in most modern refrigerators warm up the interior of the freezer to 50 degrees Fahrenheit about once a week that's how they stay frost-free if you're using a chest freezer that doesn't defrost then it's probably safe for a very long time
my father is the same... It doesn't taste good :(
Lets focus one the real question. Who freezes something thinking they might want to eat it years later? I dont think it's that serious that you need to freeze some vegetables to have for dinner a decade later.
People who stockpile or hunt game. An elk lasts a long time.
oddly enough the same thing happened at my moms house too. my brother and sister who still live there threw out meat up to 5 years old and she wasn't happy
When I visited my parents a few months ago, I found a lunchable in the fridge and thought it would be a good snack. While I was eating it, I started to wonder why my Mom would even have a lunchable. It occurred to me that my cousins had a kid and they visited a few years back. I checked the expiration date, 2012. It tasted normal. I no longer trust lunchables and yes, I can relate to a mother who thinks if it's refrigerated or canned, it doesn't go bad

She's right. As long as the food isn't opened and directly exposed to the cold air to get freezer burn, it won't go bad.
While I'm sure your intentions were good, unless it's your house and your groceries that you paid for with your own money, that wasn't your call and it's not cool that you did that. If she cooks something you think is questionable, you don't have to eat it. It's that simple.
