Maybe when you try you overthink it too much or something- just go with whatever flows out of your head

Lesson learned, dont try

I almost never try for pretty much any of my papers and I still get A's. The least I've ever gotten for a BSed paper was probably a B. Just means you do better when you ~don't~ try as hard! Nothing wrong with that.

I got horrible grades in one of classes for all the 1st papers. I was about to drop the class after writing a ridiculous paper on the process of how my desk gets messy and I got almost a perfect grade and stayed. After that I realized that wasting my time working too hard wasn't what the teacher wanted and only liked crap.

But if you never try, you'll never know just what your worth. Don't worry OP, lights will guide you home and ignite your bones.

Sounds perhaps like a politically motivated piece where the prof disagreed.

You tried so hard and got so far, but in the end, it didn't even matter.

What I found in school is it was easy to do a good job when you are passionate about whatever your assignment is. Too bad most of it was bullshit towards the end.
