sodium mfp is the active ingredient in most toothpaste, and salicylic acid is the active ingredient in a good number of acne solutions (and an inactive ingredient in lip balms like carmex). benzoyl peroxide seems to work wonders as well. i can't find anything conclusive that says that toothpaste is an effective deterrent for pimples. perhaps docbastard can weigh in on this? bonus: try googling "toothpaste" -- one of the things that appears is "toothpaste for dinner." what?! |the kid|
thanks -- i had no idea. i learn something new everyday. i quite like this site! i also inadvertently advertised it, which is sweet. |the kid|
toothpaste is for your teeth...it has "tooth" in the name for crying out loud!
All u need is some salt,baking soda, & hydrogen peroxide...mix it up then you've got your own Natural toothpaste minus the fluoride & mint that usually causes most of the irritation. Works well for my brothers! Ive never tried it personally though ...guesss it just depends on the person
Dumb.
okay, why did you put toothpaste on your pimple? that's just weird!
try bullshit...
I use St. Ives mint scrub(one of thee best I have used) It's better for my skin then their apricot scrub but I love that too. I know how you feel, I have stuff (I use many different brands) that turns my face red in random spots all over my face. It goes away but it takes a while so I rarely use it. Just keep trying and see what works best for you (so try to get sample packs before spending lots of $$$ on something that doesn't work for you.) Good Luck!

Supposedly toothpaste dries it up, but it contains some chemicals that can irritate your skin.
Worse=more noticeable, am I right?
