Deception

Today, I threw an elaborate surprise birthday party for my boyfriend of four years. He thought we were going to a quiet dinner but when we arrived, thirty of his friends jumped out and surprised him. Instead of kissing me to thank me, he broke up with me because of how easily I had lied to him. FML

So many FMLs like this and they always make me think the same thing. Either: 1) This is not the whole story. 2) These people are ridiculously stupid/unreasonable. 3) This did not happen.

Oh... That sucks... I love surprise parties! Who would be upset about someone throwing them a party? He's a dick. Look on the bright side... YOU'RE FREE!!! Oh and btw.. So what? She lied? But it was for a good reason! I mean it's not a surprise party without the surprise... Now if the partygoers were naked... Then I'd be pissed just saying... :)

If he broke up with you because of that then he was deffinately already looking to break up with you and he just used that as an excuse BTW I'm new to FML so hey

how could someone who went out with you for that long break up with you for such a stupid reason?

Wow... I agree with you and the guy. You DID lie to him, he was probably expecting a calm, romantic night out with just you, and you only. But just because of that, thats not a reason to break up with you, be mad at you sure, but not a break up after 4 years of dating....

I disagree with most of these people. He was planning on breaking up with you and this was his easy way out. This way he didn't have to feel like he was a "bad" guy.

I've always told my wife never to plan a surprise party for me. I don't want her practicing secretive conspiracies.

Then I will give you a birthday surprise instead! What is your biggest fear? I'm just asking because I'm curious, no other reason.

Haha, I think the 3 members of "Plexico have my babies" should give Plexi a birthday surprise...If you catch my drift. ;)

Agreed! I think KaySL is an unofficial member. So I guess we have four. Wow, plexi, you're popular with the ladies. :) Wait, whoever draws the short straw is going to have to "keep his wife busy" so she doesn't suspect anything.

Oh, Toxi, my biggest fear is that I will be accosted by a mob of beautiful women and they will force me to do unspeakable things. I know this is irrational, so I am willing to undergo Systematic Desensitization Therapy. I'd prefer if my insurance covers this mental health issue, but I don't think I'd mind if it were out-of-pocket. My biggest semi-rational fear is that my daughter will turn out stupid. Ugly you can work with, but it is hard to go through life stupid.

Wow...I can describe your boyfriend in one word, one simple, wonderful word: DOUCHE! I bet everyone else thought so too...

Wow!!! That sounds like the sort of thing a girl would do :-P
