Lesson learned

Today, whilst showing my kids how to replace a light bulb safely, I gave myself and electric shock, and dropped the bulb. Twice in a row. In hindsight I should have let my husband do all the DIY-based educating, since I now have a glass shard in my big toe. FML

Dear OP, rubber-soled shoes/slippers are your friend. And so is making sure the light is switched off before replacing the bulb. At least the NHS is free, so there's one plus.

I have soooo many questions. The only 'rule' I have ever been given when changing a bulb is 'turn it off so it's not hot, you moron'. I'm not even sure if or how changing a bulb counts as DIY?

how do you mess up changing a light bulb turning off the power isn’t even necessary it’s only slightly more advanced than plugging something into a wall outlet

if you can't change a light bulb then you should just stay away from everything electronic.. including your blow dryer just sayin

no girl just watch a video tutorial before you try to teach it
