Today, I tested positive for COVID. This wouldn’t be a big deal, except my entire family has now fallen like a stack of dominos, and despite being asymptomatic, I now have to quarantine. My work stopped doing COVID leave in November. FML

Your business can't stop COVID leave.

Bullshit. Your work did not cancel Covid leave while the Delta and Omicron variants were raging. They should have a work-at-home policy for your situation. Otherwise, get a new job. They are easy to get now.

COVID's been more deadly this year (through the same time period) than in either previous year. In fact, 2021 was deadlier than 2020 too, IIRC. Any business that has revoked COVID leave as a legitimate absence is the real a-hole here. They're just begging to infect coworkers and clientele. In fact the whole "Everything is fine. Go back to normal. It's totally endemic now" movement is full of crap and getting people killed, hospitalized, or plagued with long-COVID chronic conditions - For no damn good reason!
