Save Me

Today, I had to repeat myself multiple times and dumb down all my anatomical terms and symptoms while describing my illness to my doctor. I want to switch, but my insurance won’t cover another one for at least 60 more days. FML

I’m dying to know what “terms” and symptoms you described.

I’m afraid this is all to common. GP’s know a little of everything, that’s what’s needed for their role in healthcare. Anything out with their limited scope gets referred to a consultant. I was once asked how I thought Factor 8 would stop me bleeding. They thought I was referring to sun cream 🤦‍♂️

Next time bring a copy of the medical reference book (from the library) "Gray's Anatomy" to refer to said anatomical terms. Good luck, OP!

This is why I get pissed when jobs where I have over a decade of experience working wont' hire me for lack of a degree but will pick up an employee who didn't learn anything in college.
