Speak up

By Help me - 28/04/2024 02:00 - United States

Today, as I experienced another bout of existential dread while trying to sleep, I declared that it would be the day I opened up to my family about the full extent of my mental health struggles. Also today, I didn't do it. Again. Because I'm anxious it may inconvenience them to worry about me too much. FML

PLEASE, seek help. In the US you xan dial 211 and they can give you info on counseling and other help.. As far as your family and friend's it may surprise you in their reaction to want to help you 100%. The hardest step is asking for help. (also they may tell you they sensed something was going on with you but didn't want to put you on the spot.

I'm glad you're thinking of telling your family, but I hope you're prepared for them to not understand (my family loves me to death, but they simply don't understand (my mom keeps suggesting prayer and God will fix it)). I hope they're there for you, but when it comes to mental health, everyone seems to be a expert.
