I am so sorry, what an asshole. You have the right to file for divorce due to marital abandonment. By abandoning you, he no longer has any rights to any property he left behind, including the house and personal property. Sue him for child support and alimony. Hopefully the courts would seek him out.

OP, that is horrible jerk-like behavior at best and it won’t save him from 18 years of his share of child support… But I have to ask, had the two of you agreed on having a baby? It doesn’t sound that way to me. Not all surprises are welcome.
Did you discuss having this child, or any child?
I'm going to ask the hard question that puts this one in perspective and nobody else seems to have asked: Is the child his? Be honest now.
