Today, I sent a $120 bouquet of flowers for mother's day. When I called tonight see if my Mom got them, she replied that they were still on the doorstep because she "didn't want the dogs to get excited and start barking" when she opened the front door to bring them in. FML

Today, after spending $120 to have a bouquet of flowers delivered to my mom, she called to complain that I had forgotten about her for Mother's day, but also praise my sister for apparently receiving my flowers I sent at the door and passing them off as hers. FML

Today, my son gave me some flowers for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, the only time I can enjoy them is when I go into the bathroom where they are kept so the cat doesn't eat them. FML

Today, I got flowers sent to my work, I happily opened them in front of my co-workers thinking they were from my crush, I open the card to see "Love you, from mom". My mother thinks my love life is so pathetic, thats she needs to send me flowers to cheer me up. FML

Today, I called the florist and ordered a flower arrangement for my grandma, who I was told was sick. I said I didn't know what to get her, so just to send her something nice. I got a call from my mom calling me an inconsiderate bastard. They sent my grandma forget-me-nots. She has Alzheimers. FML

Today, I woke up really early before my mom so I could make pancakes for Mother's Day. I placed everything on a tray and even picked a flower, had a card for her and took it to her bedroom. She said, "You shouldn't have, pancakes are fattening." She took one bite and fed the rest to the dogs. FML

Time ran out before I could edit my comment: I agree it is pretty sad that the mother acted that way. For those who voted YDI, they might not have taken into account that OP lives in another state, on the other side of the country or the world and couldn't come back for Mother's Day

My thoughts exactly. I'd understand if it was an exotic plant with a nice flowerpot, but to me it's definitely too much for a bouquet that's going to die within a few days.

Thank you, I was looking for this comment. $120 for a bouquet? How do you even gather $120 worth of flowers in one bouquet? And if you have that much to spend on Mother's Day, why don't you spend it on something you know your mother will love? I'm guessing by her reaction that she's not very much into cut flowers...
