Welcome to hell

Today, after meeting my boyfriend's family for the first time, I found out that he, his sister and their father enjoy talking loudly over the person who is currently talking, because what anyone else says is not worth listening to. FML

Time to look for a way out. No relationship ends up well if there is no mutual respect between couple

And this is when you look them straight in the faces and yell hey I was talking are y'all toddler's and feel it's necessary to behave like that, this always works makes people realize their rudeness lol 😂

That was a pretty amazing game tonight. The Rockets lost Harden and only had nine players yet they were able to beat the Spurs. You been to San Antonio? Great town.

My mom tends to talk nonstop. I learned as a teenager that the only way to contribute to the conversation was to interrupt her. As long as I didn’t overdo it she didn’t seem to mind. Some people are polite in their conversation skills, and some don’t know when to stop so others can talk, and some people are just rude. I wouldn’t give up on the family if the only issue was their tendency to interrupt or talk over you. Step up and try it yourself - There are times and places where that’s the way you take part in the conversation.

They sound like great sounding boards. You should try to bounce ideas off them sometimes. Loudly.

Is that literally what they said, or just what you assumed? Because if your boyfriend literally said you aren't worth listening to, get the **** out.

Did the BF only do it when in that house, or does he do it all the time? If he does it there, it's a defense mechanism. Which means don't go there anymore. If he does it all the time, OP should have known this about him after spending any time talking to him.
