My mom tends to talk nonstop. I learned as a teenager that the only way to contribute to the conversation was to interrupt her. As long as I didn’t overdo it she didn’t seem to mind. Some people are polite in their conversation skills, and some don’t know when to stop so others can talk, and some people are just rude.
