Today, I found out that I get to spend the next two weeks at my grandparents' house, which smells like cat litter, while the rest of my family takes a cruise through the Caribbean. They can't afford to take a ninth person. FML

Why didn't you help saving money for yourself? Cruises are expensive, I don't think it's too weird to help paying..

To clarify: I just realized this FML could be interpreted two ways. I first understood it as the grandparents also went, and OP was left behind to house/catsit. It's also possible, though, that (s)he was left in the grandparents' care while his/her immediate family, ie just parents and siblings, went. So disregard my previous comments. :]

I read it as the op is too young to stay at home alone, so they are staying with their grandparents.. Which also leads me to believe they are also probably the youngest of the family, and wouldn't appreciate the cruise as much as the older members of the family? just a thought.
