Daisy don't give a ****

Today, I found out that there's nothing like having to chase a 100-something pound Bloodhound around the neighborhood when you're 8 months pregnant, with a 3 and 4 year-old in tow. Especially when she runs the other way at the sight of you coming. FML

I think you all are being horribly cruel. One, how can you say she deserves it for not using birth control? It's only three kids, I grew up in a three child household. It's NOT a lot. Second, I also had a dog that would escape out of the backyard (by climbing the fence) and run away when she saw you coming. More than likely the OP was chasing the dog to prevent her small children from freaking out and crying about the lost dog. Animals don't always come back when they get hungry, sometimes they DO get lost. While I don't agree with running while 8 months pregnant, what I see is a mother doing her best to keep the other children happy and protect the family pet from possibly getting run over.

Birth control is wrong. She might have wanted to have 3 kids but im sure none of you ever thought of that.

How the hell is birth control wrong? It's a woman's choice whether she wants to be a baby machine or not.

BC is wrong...in HER opinion. In YOUR opinion, it's not. In MY opinion, I don't give a shit.

You see, chasing the dog when it runs away is what caused this problem. You taught the dog, by chasing it every time it runs off, that if it runs away you'll chase it. The dog thinks that you're playing a game. NEVER chase your dog when it runs off. Follow calmly and call him or her in a high pitched, happy tone. Praise the dog when it returns; DON'T SCOLD. Scolding a dog when it returns teaches it that you'll yell at it when it comes to you.

Yeah, dogs LOVE chasing games. Best way is to make high pitched squeaky noises, whistle, call its name excitedly, wave your arms around, anything to get its attention. Run in the opposite direction - nine times out of ten the dog will turn around and chase you, then you can catch it. Basically you have to make yourself more interesting than whatever's distracted the dog, or why would it come back? And always praise when the dog comes to you, even if it takes forever. Any praise or correction should be within one second of the behaviour, otherwise you run the risk of accidentally reinforcing a different behaviour then the one you intended. Definitely work on recall training somewhere safe and boring like the back yard before you start taking it out, and continue training in more distracting situations until the dog's recall is reliable. And I'd probably avoid taking kids and dog out at the same time, both need a lot of attention and it just isn't possible to supervise two kids and a dog enough to keep them all safe.

my guess is that her "running" wasn't really running, as much as it was a fast paced walk. At 8 months pregnant, you can't really run. So calm down people, it wasn't like she was out sprinting or running a marathon! That's just how she chose to phrase it. I'd go after my dog too if it ran away.

Yeah, if couples have more than 2 children, the population will grow.

Stop having kids, then MAYBE, just maybe you can actually chase your dog.

ydi for having too many kids! ever heard of birth control?! thanks for over populating the world bitch

Thanks for proving my point that people who say the she deserves it for having children are total retards! :D

why bother? let the stupid animal go!!!!

um, maybe she wanted to have 3 kids. there is nothing wrong with that. not all children are conceved (sp?) because of careless sex, rape, etc. some people acually want to have kids. I'm sort of want to have 3 or 4 kids when I am older.

You obviously have no knowledge of dogs. He/she thought you were playing. Next time, run the other way.
