Unbelievable that people can be so ignorant. I hope one day your boss will understand OP, and I think you should tell someone about it/report it.

you know I don't speak any other languages than englash and a little German, I have friend who is Filipino and when I worked at XYZ company with him a manager told him to speak Asian to a Chinese man and I couldn't believe it the manager actually tried to write him up just like in your case till other managers in the office told him Asian isn't one language in that there are multiple Chinese dialects on top of that. it was funny and sad all at once. the really sad thing is my buddy who worked with me, that was not the first time when he worked for xyz2 bookstore it happen too and that manager had to be told by an HR rep their were multiple Asian languages. I just can't believe the world in the state it's in I mean we live in a global economy with internet access wtf are thouse people doing living under a rock!

Reminds me of when Kellie Pickler (from American Idol) thought Europe was a country where the people speak only french. The ignorance of some people never fails to astound me.
