Today, to save money, I wanted to fix my own leaky roof instead of hiring someone. When I got on the roof, the ladder fell. As it was falling, it broke three windows and snagged the siding of my house ripping over half of it off. FML

so who cares, u r ****** gay

i don't blame the OP for trying to fix it himself, or for being unfortunate enough to have caused a bunch of additional damage when the ladder fell. i DO blame him for not having someone else there to hold the ladder, because if he had, the ladder wouldn't have fallen. only an idiot climbs a ladder without someone below to steady it.

OP was already off the ladder. If he/she was planning on being up there for a while (like the several hours it takes to re-do a roof), why would someone wait at the bottom of the ladder all that time?

OP made it sound like the ladder fell as soon as he got off of it. if someone had been holding it and walked away because he was going to be up there for awhile, they should have taken the ladder down, and put it back up when he was ready to come down. it's simply unsafe to leave a ladder standing all by itself.
