Exorcism time

By Anonymous - 12/02/2016 18:47 - United States - San Francisco

Today, a teacher told me in all seriousness that she believes my son, who has severe learning difficulties, is likely demonically possessed. I'm sorry, but what century are we living in? Now I have to get him moved to another school so he doesn't have to be in the care of this nutjob. FML

Sorry that happened OP. Same thing happened with my nephew, but he is highly gifted. She kept on giving him 'baby books' to read when he was at a grade 8 reading level. He got bored and would ignore her. Some how that translates to being possessed. She also hit him and told him he was evil. Lucky the school helped, couldn't get her fired, but she has a black mark against her record and her contract will not be renewed.

32, that's absolutely insane that they couldn't get her fired for HITTING a child. F the lives of anyone who has to have that teacher. At my school a teacher threw a chair at a student and got arrested for assault of a minor or something like that. I'm not too sure about it, but I do know they did more than just black marked him.

I agree, she should have been charged with assault. Unfortunately my nephew thought that he had done something wrong (he was only 6) and didn't tell his parents until quite a bit later. Even with other children as witnesses, because they couldn't remember the specific day and time that it happened (it actually happened twice), they couldn't file a report. I am still so angry over what happened it makes me sick that she is still teaching and could do this to another child.

Might be worth notifying the other parents at the school about this possibility - and saying you'll support them if it ever happens to them and that they might want to watch out but you don't want to be charged with harassment.

Sometimes strong Catholics believe that disabilities of any type, like even ADD, are caused by some sort of demon. Maybe that's what she meant? I hope she was just trying to help...

Don't change schools, report her and get her taken out of there. This is her issue not yours.

Op a teacher preformed a exorcism because I was sick, just report her get her fired all ends happily.

If it's the USA they can and do. They still teach creationism as a viable theory citing the bible as their evidence and try to force all districts and states to follow suit.

38: No they don't. In all my years of public school not once have they cited the bible.

Report her to your state's code of ethics division. They will launch an investigation and hopefully this won't happen to another child.

The US doesn't teacher creationism in public schools, some politicians, parents and people try to get the theory inserted into the curriculum, but it fails. That being said, individual teachers can have their own biases, which can effect their teaching. For example, I know of one story where a teacher insisted the bible was a primary source, even though it's a book written by other people and interpreted and revised across generations. This is a reflection of the individual teacher though, not the entire system.

well if she think he's "demonically possessed" it could be possible he said something extremely violent or out of character for a person with said disability. possibly he asked an extremely specific personal question that turned out to be true that he had no way of knowing about. some kids are sensitive and that can affect that way. I personally believe that something did happen that was scary to the teacher or extremely unusual and you should ask her why she says that and follow up with it!
