I really want to know what breed the dog is. A chihuahua or a Great Dane would vastly change the humor in this story.
You dog has you trained well! Next time either a shorter walk or bring a blanket for a nap.
When exercising a dog that it getting walked regularly, you have to be mindful of the dog's endurance levels. Don't stop walking your doggy!!
Aw poor dog. I guess you'll need to start off small with shorter walks until she can handle a longer one
how do you have a dog and don't take it for a walk? I'm not being mean, but where does it poop?
Some people have yards they can let their dogs out in. Of course, some indoor dogs just go out long enough to go to the bathroom, rather than getting any exercise in the process.
ok thanks! here in the Netherlands you always take your dog outside.
That's like asking an obese person to walk a mile. Not only will it be incredibly difficult, it's bad for their joints. Start with short walks around the block a few times a day. Better yet talk to your vet about a water therapy place where your dog can walk in water which will help support your dogs joints. Also diet is a big part of this. I free feed my dogs but that doesn't work for dogs who haven't been trained to do so. Not to mention my dogs live very active lives. Talk to your vet about what kind and how much food your dog should be eating.
ydi, your dog deserves to be walked ATLEAST once a day. You are responsible for your dogs quality of life so give it an amazing one!
Maybe you should just took him a block if he haven't been one a while and it's getting to hot now to take long walks with your dogs guys
It nearly sounds like you're trying to blame the dog for what the dog doesn't get: a walk. I had a dog that wanted to go with me every time I went out the drive on my bike. So one day I took her with me and after that exertion, she never followed me again. You're not doing your dog any favors by not walking her and she's letting you know.
My 80lbs golden retriever does this.

If your dog is obese you should have started off with a shorter walk and try feeding t a healthy amount.
that's what you get for letting your dog become obese. he got his workout for the day, now it's your turn.
