I used to have a friend who was great to be around when she wasn't with her boyfriend. When her boyfriend was there, she'd immediately turn into a disgustingly over affectionate lapdog. I'm not saying this is you, but you should probably reconsider the way you act around him, and ask them what part of your behavior they don't like. Try not to overreact to what they're saying, and consider that they may have a hard time phrasing it the right way. My friend denied every word we said, and it wasn't until after they broke up that she reflected on it and realized that we were right about the way she was behaving.
