Just call him lazy in return! You lazy ***** deserve each other.
You really need to have better boundaries. If he's home all day and you're at work, he should do the cooking, or at least make a reasonable and substantial effort to assist in household chores. If on his day off he fails to say, cook dinner, without a reasonable excuse, while you're working. You could cook yourself dinner but not him. Might sound harsh, but he's never going to make any effort without some form of incentive (and idk about you but food is a pretty strong incentive for me).
If he gets upgraded to husband than you would deserve it. You should either have him do his fair share or leave.
You don't HAVE to do anything; you decide to cook for the both of you and you decide to clean up after him. You are only responsible for your own actions. If he's not adequately contributing to the relationship, stop enabling that behavior.

Hope you mean “ex soon”. Kick his lazy ass out and tell him to not come back unless he acts like an adult and steps up to his obligations. If you stay with him, you deserve the life you are going to get.
