Moral panic #2766

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - Canada - Kamloops

Today, my sister shared a post on Facebook which talked about how "gays" are destroying the "sanctity of marriage." I couldn't help but point out that she's been married 3 times in the last 7 years, while I've been happily married to my wife for nearly 9. She deleted my comment then blocked me. FML

It's 2016....people need to learn to accept other people's sexualities by now

In the words of Bronn; There's no cure for bein' a ****.

I don't see why people make such a big deal about other people's sexuality anyway. If two guys or two girls want to get married, so what? Even if I was some ultra-conservative who thought homosexuality is a sin (I'm not), it doesn't affect me in the slightest. I think that for the most part, consenting adults should be able to do basically whatever they want romantically or sexually. I haven't met any LGBT people who have a problem with me being straight, so the very least I can do is not have a problem with them being whatever they are.

People started making a big deal when i became political. For the most part everyone knew there were homosexuals and either didn't care or didn't make a big deal about it except for the occasion crude joke or slur. But when it became political people who identified with that group became polarized and were suddenly all upset about it. The REASON it became a political subject was to distract people from just how badly they were being screwed over by those in power (political or economic.)

You've got to be ******* kidding me. People were just indifferent to gay people before gay marriage started being pushed for? And people only started pushing for it because "the government" wanted to distract people? That's the most absurd and obscenely dishonest comment I've seen in a long, long time.

You can't pick your family but you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friends nose.

^ Technically you can pick your friends nose, but I wouldn't do that if I were you.

Divorce is allowed biblically... So I mean...

No it's not. In the bible it's actually considered a sin.

And to marry a divorced person is adultery

In one section of the scriptures the only permissible reason for divorce was adultery. Of course in another the adulterer was to be stoned to death so divorce was unnecessary. Of course if you claim to be a christian as in "Christ-like" Jesus was pretty much of the attitude of care for everyone and let spiritual matters be between them and God.

Anyone who would make that comment on Facebook where their sibling in a same-sex marriage could see it deserves exactly what they get. I'm sorry she's so awful, and I hope you have supportive friends and family in your lives.

Did you just equate homosexuality with **********? And it makes sense to compare country A to country B because then people have a barometer for how ****** up shit is in their country.

We need to have a "congratulations for ridding your life of that bullshit" button.

FYL, OP. Your sister is a very judgemental person. So rude. So yeah, she was being a jerk.

Given they have a wife, you can pick your family.
