Today, the love of my life said, "You’d make a great husband! Whoever marries you in the future is gonna be so happy!" We’ve been together for 4 years and was planning to propose on her birthday in two weeks. FML

Did she know you were going to propose? Maybe she was just dropping a hint she wants to make you a husband

Agree with the other poster - it was probably a way of her dropping hints and being coy. Rather than say “If we get married, I’d be so happy!” and potentially scaring you away, she worded it differently to say you’d make a great husband. It was probably like a playful, tongue-in-cheek thing. I know you’re probably super nervous so your gut reaction was to perceive her words negatively, but definitely err on the side of OPTIMISM in this case! Go forward with the proposal on her birthday and let us know how it goes! 😄😄😄😊😊😊

I agree with the other posters...I have DEFINITELY said that to my *now* husband. I didn't want to scare him off. I hope she says yes!! :)

don't freak out yet, maybe she was throwing hints out there 🥰 I'm a girl and that's what that sounds like. maybe someone spilled beans and she was just giving you green light, so go ahead and propose. 4 years is a long time to date so yeah just go through with it
