Well I guess that's two bitches you don't have to worry about bringing down your special day, congrats though OP
It was a male dog
the facts should never get in the way of a good joke, #17.
I meant to up vote this and accidentally downvoted it instead .-. You right though
Maybe it's your mom that's the real bitch op. (But for real, sorry that your mom decided not to come to your wedding. That's super shitty)
Did she mean the dog didn't feel like going?
My bad, thought I read the dog was a 'she' as well.
People who bring dogs that aren't service dogs everywhere are total assholes. They really ruin it for responsible dog owners who want to have their dogs in dog-friendly spaces. I'm sorry your mom isn't coming to your wedding... but at least the dog stays home where he belongs.
well dogs are like family but there is a time and a place for them. a wedding is not one of those places.
My dog walked down the isle with my Neice at my wedding, and a couple other people brought their dogs too, but my wedding location allowed for it. Most people's don't, and even if they do, dogs can be very annoying in a celebratory setting. OP has every right to ask her mom to leave the dog at home, and her mom will absolutely regret being so childish one day.
I have six dogs in my family. They are family. Hell, if I ever got married... I'd have a dog friendly one. I just hate t when people act like they're entitled to bring their dogs everywhere. Especially little ones! Just because your dog fits in a purse does not mean it is well behaved or that you can take it everywhere.
Most dogs aren't real service dogs. They get them a little vest or whatever and claim they've got depression and need their therapy dog. I've seen them admit it. If you're so unstable that you can't go out in public without your emotional friend, then maybe you should stay home. Or get a stuffed animal. My sister is 28 and has autism. She has a stuffed animal build a bear snow leopard that she takes with her everywhere. That's her emotional friend. Why can't more people do that?
Congratulations on getting married. It's her loss for not attending..
I don't think I'd be able to talk to my mother for a long time after that.
Even though she is your mom, if she's going to act like that, she'll just bring down your big day and you don't want that. My mother is a horrible person and only thinks about her needs. I refused her to my wedding, and it made her rethink things. Maybe refuse your mom and see if things change for you.
Lots of people include their dog in their wedding. But I agree OP's mom is acting like a spoiled child when it comes to OP not wanting her dog there. It's actually sad that she had to specifically state that the dog was to stay home. I would think, unless the bride or groom state otherwise, one would not think to bring their dog to the wedding.
I mean there's nothing wrong with wanting dogs at your own wedding but in this case OP doesn't want that dog at her wedding so her wishes should be respected. Personally I want my dogs at my wedding but one of them probably won't live long enough for that to happen and the other isn't trained enough yet for that so it probably won't happen.
I agree, if a bride and groom invite your dogs then bring them if you want, otherwise, it shouldn't even be a thought in your mind to bring your dog. But it's not as uncommon to have a dog in the wedding party as many might think.
With all do respect ur better off. That's pretty messed up.. But congrats (:
