You call your boss/HR/Whoever is in charge, and inform them of your *family emergency*. A lot of companies will give you family leave in situations like this. Even shitty retail stores have programs in place for situations like this so I hope that yours does. Look through your employee benefits portal or whatever you have and read up so that you also can't get screwed over if you have one of thooooose managers/bosses that don't like you knowing what you're eligible for. If you get fired, I'm pretty sure you could sue. It's also time you start being an active and contributing parent because it sound like all you do is work and you know nothing about running the house, managing the kids, or even that they take priority. Having a breadwinner in the home is important, but your wife is not a single parent and being employed doesn't give you a pass on responsibilities to your home or children. I hope you manage to make it through and also that your wife recovers quick and that this is an isolated event for her.
