Today, no matter how hard I try, I just can’t recognize a funeral procession when I see one. It just looks like a bunch of cars to me. I should probably get off the road for good. FML

How many funeral processions are you encountering that this is such a major issue for you?

Not true. When I used to do delivery, I came across a lot of funeral processions. There was always multiple police escorts. Having signs and your headlights on doesn't help when you go through a red light. The cross traffic will not see this. That's the main reason for the police escort. They block the cross traffic at the stop lights so the procession can proceed safely.

seriously, a BUNCH of cars blowing a red light?!? also with either day glow stickers or flags? but again... They're ALL blowing the red light.... duh

Good for you for realising that but how do you not recognize it?

So, the fact that there are usually 2 or more police escorts and they all have their headlights on during the day doesn't clue you in on this?

Unless it’s an important person’s funeral or military, there generally aren’t police escorts. More often than not there will just be signs on their front or back window stating Funeral Procession (the funeral home hands the signs out to any family who is driving their own vehicle along with the hearse to the cemetery) as well as the vehicles having their headlights on.

I WORK at a funeral home. Maybe it’s different where you live however across Canada, we do not have police escorts unless it is an important person’s death or military.

A lot of funeral processions have police escorts, but even if they don't, the hearse should be a dead giveaway. Pardon the pun.
