Wait, you are calm, cool and collected that your minor child is pregnant? "Exciting" doesn't always mean in a pleasant way. I'd think you'd flip your shit over this!
My brother flipped his shirt when his middle school daughter was knocked up, beat the snot out of her and then spent a year in jail. Kudos OP (hopefully) didn't add child abuse to his list of failures. that may be the only positive.
I have half-raised 3 children (step-kids) and fully raised 2 others. As soon as each child turned 11 years old, I sat them down and explained exactly how babies are made. I also explained I understood about raging hormones and told them if they ever wanted birth control, I would supply them any time, no questions asked. I wanted my kids to trust me and guess what? The 2 girls I was not able to do this with? Both got pregnant very young. The other 3 I WAS able to do this with? Not a single one had an accident. The oldest had his first baby in his mid/late 20's when he was ready. The other two? 30 and no kids, youngest? 21 and no kids. We cannot always expect and trust schools to teach our children the facts of life and how to protect themselves. Now, if your daughter *wanted* to get pregnant, that's a different story.
ya but your comment doesn't help them at all. it's too late.
I can beat that - we had a girl in my eighth grade class who was pregnant. Yes, eighth grade. Middle school graduation. And then, our freshman year, she was on the wrestling team. While pregnant.
