Welcome to adulthood?
All jokes aside, this pisses me off. There is consistent, overwhelming evidence that teens are biologically wired to be more active and awake late at night, and to have a much harder time than adults getting up in the morning. The fact that school starts as early as it does is so that teachers can act as babysitters while parents work; it certainly isn't conducive to students learning or being healthy. It's just infuriating to hear about authority figures who can't be bothered to learn the simple, empirical truth of this.
Studies have also shown that teenage students have a harder time retaining information before 10am. By the time their brains are ready to learn, they’re already halfway through their school day.
If you go to bed at 10 p.m. regularly for at least two weeks and still fall asleep at 5 a.m. then go see a doctor.
I'm up every day Mon-Fri at 5:30 am for work, I would love to be able to sleep in till 7. Once I woke up at 7:30 on a Saturday and started panicking instantly because I thought it was still Friday and I was late.
