The precious truck

Today, I got fired because, while responding to an emergency page for the volunteer fire department to help find a man in a field with a gunshot wound, I backed into a rock with the company truck that I drive to and from work. Nobody asked about the guy with the bullet inside him. He's OK now, in case anyone cares. FML

No, he got fired from his paying job because he damaged the company truck while responding for his volunteer job.

Yeah, that's a whole 'nother world of hurt! At least, he should be responsible to repair the truck and face some sort of sanction for using it for non-business reasons. That probably could've been less than termination, but they might have wanted to get rid of him anyways.

Fired from a volunteer job? That's gotta hurt. You can't even give away your labor! Give my regards to the real victim in this story -- get well, Little Truck!

I'm pretty sure that violates state laws about protecting fire rescue and medical personnel
