Today, after finals, my English professor left me less than one percent from an A. Why? All semester long, he took away points because my opinions did not match his. FML

HI! I appreciate sympathy. I wasn't expecting it, but it makes me feel a bit better. Thank you. XD It is (was) a college level English course (the last one I had to take for my GE requirements). I really did try hard in that class. I would ask him very specific questions and he would provide vague answers. His opinion on the material was never explicitly clear (considering every assignment we did was based upon a different work or subject). I'm not displeased about getting a B, it's just frustrating to be left so close to the next grade!

Damn, that's the most retarded reason I've ever heard for docking marks. FYL.

I had a literature professor that did the same thing... We would read something and he'd have an exam... On the exam he would ask what our interpretation was or our opinion and then when I got it back it would say why I was wrong..

FYL OP. I'm sure he can't get away with that

I had an adjunct professor with a degree in history who was trying to get a full-time position and was jumping around from school to school teaching whatever they needed. They had her teaching my English course. She wasn't very good at explaining the material and loved peer review groups. I would have to teach my peer group the lesson plan before we could actually review each other's work. Apparently this upset her. I got an A on every week's paper and the midterm and final. She would hand us our work graded then make us turn it back in so she could keep track. I left the class with a D.

That’s not fair. You should report him. He can’t take off points just because you guys have different opinions.
