Today, after passing various interviews and tests, I was given a great job pending a pre-employment medical test. Now I'm jobless and colorblind. FML

What kind of job is it that you can't get if you are colorblind?

I've heard you can be passed over for piloting jobs if you have certain forms of color blindness.

Just so you know, some forms of color blindness can be corrected with glasses now. Course since you couldn't see the colors before you will have to learn them.

If your job has to do with driving, then not passing a color blindness test can prevent you from getting the job

Hey OP, HR person here. Unless the colorblindness is a necessary requirement for the job, you can appeal that as job discrimination. Also just for the record, in 99% of the US states, pre-employment medical exams are illegal. Only can be made AFTER a job offer is made, and then it has to be worded in your employment contract as a necessity for the job.
