Today, after pouring my heart out to my girlfriend of four years through a speech that took me three weeks to write, and then proposing, she responded, "Eh, why not." FML

Take that as a yes and marry her before she has time to reconsider.

thats really not such a bad response, she did say yes after all. Could simply be her style, or the fact that she wasn't expecting it but didn't want to do the cliche "omg omg omg, yes yes yes" response

hey, at least it's a yes, cheer up sweetheart.. it's way better than a no(:

She said "yes" and that's the important part. Good luck to you both!

Wow. Are people really that naive to say "at least she said yes!"? Saying ehh why not after being committed to someone for four years is WORSE than a no. And saying she was joking around? Why would someone joke after something as momentous and as typically emotional as a proposal? And a serious proposal at that with a sentimental letter... they wouldn't have been compatible for four years if he was more serious and deep while she was nonchalant and passive. Basically lol @ the commenters that genuinely meant congrats she said yes bro!
