ironfey tells us more.
Oh geez. Umm hi. OP here c: so I should probably mention that it was about 10-15 minutes until closing time, and that we aren't allowed to close the gates until 5 til. First only like 5 came in, and we're like okay let's do this. We got this. And then another one came in. And another. And another. Not only that, but some of our bosses family came in, so we had to serve them FOR FREE. I didn't get to clock out until 30 minutes after, and I would've had to stay even later if it wasn't for the fact that I'm 16 and that child labor laws exist. And I should also mention that I have nothing against cheerleaders, I've known cheerleaders and dancers that are the most down to earth people in the entire world, but these girls were the type that ask for the meat to be heated separate, for us to pack the vegetables separately, ask for sauce on the side, etc. It was ridiculous. But thank you all for your comments, and anyone else out there working retail: You're a damn trooper, kudos to you c;

Kill it with fire, with flame
I think he/she was more pissed that they were taking so long considering the FML states she was just about to close shop. OP probably wouldn't be pissed if the incident occured earlier in the day since there would be no urgency. This may be an assumption, but a slight YDI for not telling the girls to hurry up since she's in a rush. Maybe they would be more decisive if OP had told them (if he/she didn't). If OP did tell them he/she was in a rush and they still continued to be loiter around undecisively, I would have been pissed off too.
I can't believe someone would vote YDI not just because it was closing time, but because you had to deal with such basic bitches
That's literally annoying.

i work at hungry jacks (Burger King) does that count
I work at a petrol station. It gets really bad. I know how you feel OP /:
I work at a Subway, inside of a 24/7 casino. I KNOW YOUR STRUGGLE. D;
@66 I work at Brooks brothers and have had customers come in stay 40 minutes after and tear up the store with their 2 kids and not buy a thing. All the while me telling them nicely the registers are going to close. :/ but there are some awesome customers too you just remember all the shitty ones Haha
I work at Taco Bell. Our biggest rush usually starts at 1:30 and people don't stop coming. We close at 2am. When I first started, I would keep serving people until the line ended so I couldn't close until 2:30ish. Now I turn the lights off right at 2 and stop taking orders. People know what time we close here. Not my fault you wouldn't come sooner! I feel your pain OP!
My sympathies OP. My first job was at McDonald's and I have done my time over the years waiting tables and working retail. While I no longer work in those types of jobs, I use my people skills learned at those jobs in order to be successful in my career. I believe everyone should have to work in the service industry at least once in their lives. Not only to learn important communication and team player skills, but also to appreciate others in those jobs. Hope today is better for you!
I feel your pain. I work in a safeway deli making sandwiches. Some people are so picky :(
I work at qdoba, it's a Mexican grill
I work in retail what I despise is when we're closing at say 9pm and there's still someone looking at things st 9:05 (we have a 15 minute/10 minutes/5 minute warning letting customers know that the store is closing and at 9 it says the store is now closed) it makes it worse when customers are down right rude and refuse to leave
I work in a supermarket and have had similarly things happen. In fact the other day a bunch of people came in 15 minutes before closing and did a massive shopping but didn't come to my till until 5 minutes before closing. Ended up we couldn't leave and close until 5 minutes after we were supposed to close due to these ass clowns.
#95 It is indeed possible to have a huge loathing for your job but still need it. Also, no, they are not paid for staying in 30 minutes late after they're supposed to be allowed to leave. They're paid for doing the work during their shift. In fact, I think OP should be compensated for the overtime.
#115 I'm mainly out back flipping burgers and making them. I've been out front, but haven't had difficult orders.
On a scale of one to even, I can't
lol. Major. Major brain fart
I'm guessing you have never worked a retail job #29. If you had you would be that mean to a retail worker.
Idk why you're getting so much hate #29. I guess people can't handle the truth sometimes. I definitely agree with your comment.

Did they have any *odd* orders? Get it? Because they "can't even? "
Tell them they can't even get a sandwich then
