I had geico for 8 years. They continuously dicked me over for that entire time. I finally gave in and went with a different insurance agency (State Farm) and my car insurance went from $98 a month with geico for BASIC insurance, to $60 a month for FULL coverage, including my passengers, my DOG, glass, all of it... for less money... **** Geico.
Even though the DMV has proof that it was a police officer's error that caused you to be cited, they won't believe you? Screw them. I hope you find a better insurance company to cover you.
A DUI would go on your driver's license not by a license plate.
Insurance is just a scam for bad drivers, just don't drink and drive and you'll be good no insurance needed!
Don't worry, you could still save 15% or more by switching to Geic- ...oh.
I guess you wont be saving 15% or more.

You'd have to be THAT blind to accidentally write a completely wrong plate number. That officer, or even better a superior, really needs to talk to whatever person at Geico doesn't believe you.
Something like this happened to me. If GEICO dropped you then so be it. You need insurance. Get new coverage. If you have a long and good history it was likely an automated procedure that happened that involved no human intervention. Work it out and they should reinstate you and cover costs of your current insurance as credit. Least, thats what happened is my situation. They covered 6 months of insurance payments just to bring me back on (this wasn't Geico btw).
