Today, I discovered that I don't have a college fund. My mother stole the money when she divorced my dad and he never bothered to tell me. Now he's offered to pay my tuition if I go to a military academy. If I don't take the offer, he wants me to move out by next Friday. FML

Today, my sister finally broke down and told me that our dad gambled away of all my college savings, and I would have to pay for school the best way I can. They have known for months, and when I asked why nobody told me, the reply was, "You're a college boy, we thought you would figure it out." FML

Today, I left for college. I spent hundreds of dollars on clothes, bedding and other things. After packing my entire closet and everything else I needed, I left only to have to head back home. My dad forgot to pay the first semesters tuition. He said "Oh well, you would have failed out anyway." FML

What in the world? What kind of father holds out on that and says something like that? Do you have any other relatives that would take you in? If you told them I'm sure they would understand your dilemma

There is NO tuition at the military academies. But, if you graduate, you will owe them 5 years of service. There are better ways. Lots of financial aid out there, but you have to do the work to find it. You can also enlist in the service, do 4 years, get paid, and then have them send you to college on the GI Bill. As the Bundy kids say, "Thanks, Dad!"

hey at least you do get intuition. my dad doesn't want to pay for mine and I'm in a foreign country (so i cant go to public universities) bc my mom is getting treated for her cancer and she doesn't have any money. also, military guys are hot asf okay all girls dig them. and again you can always sue her to get your rights back.
