I get the impression she was trying to send the actual assignment to her bf and that she didn't complete it herself yet. So she basically just showed her potential employer that she can't do her assignments on her own.

i believe OP means that the interviewer gave her an assignment to possibly present on at interview? and OP sent it to her husband for his opinion. as in, OPs response wouldnt have been her own information- which im sure is frowned upon when hiring new people
