Today, I entered a raffle at a local fashion designer event; the prize was $400 credit at the store that was hosting it (which was just enough for one of their dresses). Good news: I won! Bad news: they don't carry a single thing above a women's size 5. I'm 6'2" and 180 lbs. FML

I say turn that raffle into an auction, and get at least some of its value back in cash.

Are they a chain? You might be able to find your size online or at a different location. I mean, assuming there isn't a company-wide policy against anything above a size five.

Sorry about your situation OP. Unfortunately the fashion world seems to have a limited idea of the size and shape of an adult woman. Hopefully you can sell your prize to get something out of it.

Why did you enter the Raffle for that then?

Just sell it online. I'm sure someone can use it then, and you can get any money you spent on the raffle back easily.

They must have accessories and if not, sell it! If it really is such an exclusive shop, you really might easily find buyers, I hope so for you! chin up OP, you won for a reason, even if you don't know it yet!

$400? Does the dress come with insurance??

If you know any close friends getting married soon, you could offer it as an early wedding present. Otherwise, you should probably auction it.

Buy some cute clothes with the prize money, Poshmark that shiz, and purchase your own cute clothes with the money you earn from selling them!

Well that's a dick move on their part OP. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't advertise their sizes on purpose to get more ticket sales for the raffle.

You should know from Mean Girls that fancy dress stores only carry sizes 1, 3, and 5.
