Today, I found a picture of my ex with a new boyfriend. This wouldn't be so bad if she didn't break up with me because she was lesbian. FML

she was probably just looking for an excuse to break up with you, OP. If she lied to you like that, you're better off without her anyways. You can do better.

Plot twist: Op's girlfriend's new boyfriend is actually a girl

Hope you will move on and don't care about your ex who was also a liar.

Lesbian, Bisexual, or lying through her teeth...either way, not open or honest enough to have been worth it.

she might just still be figuring things out

I just gotta ask this but: are you sure that's not a picture of someone she dated before she dated you? If yes I feel bad for both of you. If no I feel back for both of you anyway.

Or maybe they're a friend or family member, depending on the picture. OP may have just gotten the wrong idea.

But what if it's a butch girl? You never know though that still blows :/

Some women won't identify as bisexual because there's a stigma in LGBT crowds about it still. Some lesbians are super assholish about it. Maybe she was concerned about how you'd react?

So, while fighting to be accepted and not judged harshly about their sexual orientation, lesbian look down on bi-sexuals for their sexual orientation?

Some do, yes. People in general are really shitty about bisexuality, for some reason.

Oh yeah, there are tons of people who think bisexuality is just a way to "pretend to be on both sides", or that we just haven't made up our minds, or something along those lines. Don't even get me started on asexuality and its many subcategories.

I consider myself pansexual but have thought of just saying bisexual at times because of how hostile people can get over it. I've tried multiple times to explain different genders and such to my brother and he gets very demeaning and basically laughs at it. I've also seen the whole 'you just can't choose' or even 'you're selfish' comments toward bisexuals. Sadly, not everyone is as accepting as you'd think they should be.

It's not just lesbians. Gay men can be giant pieces of shit about it. Some think being attracted to the opposite sex makes you "tainted." It's ******* ridiculous that in a movement that's supposed to be accepting that this shit happens all the time. Being bisexual I have a lot of pent up rage about this ******* topic. I want to point out that bisexual guys have it super bad too.

49 - I'm actually pansexual too, I just use the term bisexual more often to avoid confusion. It's close enough, and regardless of the reception, at least people know what it is :P

62 I can totally understand that. I don't really mind explaining it, but as I said it generally draws hostile reactions. People saying to "stop making shut up", "just call yourself bisexual", ect. Explaining and the jokes about kitchenware I can handle, I laugh at the latter, but it gets very stressful and upsetting for people to flip out over what I choose to label my sexuality as.

@62 + 68, I'm bi and have a hard one understanding the difference between bisexuality and being pan (I know it has something to do with gender binary I just don't know where one sexuality ends/begins/ and overlaps.) I'll never understand policing someone for what they identify as to make it easier on themselves. Those people can just screw off.

My understanding is bisexual is bi- so two. Girl and boy, there's people who identify outside of just girl and boy so that's where pan comes in. In my opinion, it's basically just saying I can be attracted to any gender. Some people also exclude trans in bisexual but I feel that's more depending on the person.

73 - Eh, sort of. Bisexuality means you're attracted to both genders; pansexuality means gender just doesn't matter to you. They may sound the same, but they're totally different.

Sometimes. The same thing happens in the gay male community. It's rough

have a sex change and get her back? but really, at least you know it's not you. it was just her sexuality.

I'm fine with bisexuality and being homosexual, but I got confused reading this ???

Boy posted FML. Boy got dumped by girl. Girl says it's because she is a lesbian. Then, boy sees a pic of the girl with her new boyfriend. Theory 1: She lied and still likes boys. Theory 2: Maybe bisexual? Theory 3: New BF is actually trans and/or is actually a GF (that just happens to seem male).
