Today, I found out that my university had not accepted the internship I did when I was in college. They placed me in the same bank I interned in, with the same bank manager that I flipped the middle finger at after finishing my internship. FML

Don't burn bridges until they're fully crossed, and even then think twice before burning them. You may have to cross it again.

Maaayyybe you shouldn't have flipped that guy off? Karma's a bit of a bitch

Lesson 1. Always be professional. Lesson 2. Never burn your bridges.

Or you could've ended the internship in a polite and grateful manner, even if your boss was a total dick. That was an option too.

Discuss the conflict with whoever's in charge of placing you. I'm going to assume there was a reason you flipped him off, so there should be a reason why you shouldn't be there again. There must be other banks you can intern at, or perhaps a different manager.

**** him. This is a good life lesson. ******* kids these days don't understand that there are consequences for their actions. This is a classic example of the downfall of the "everybody gets a trophy" generation.

While I agree. There's also no need for him to be back at the same bank with the same supervisor, there's not going to be any significant new learning there which is the point of interning. They should take his previous work experience into account when placing him.

You done goofed, I'd feel sorry for you if you hadn't been a dick head(:

It sounds like you were a dick for no reason, but even if the manager was an asshole, you shouldn't flip people off or anything like that. I mean, I get you were leaving, but it makes it very hard to use them as a reference at a later time.

Welp, I've had a harder time in that internship than a guy who served in prison. True, he was a total dickless asshole, too bad I'm gonna have to work for him again this month. Better set things right with him this time.

The reason you're repeating this internship: you flipped-off the manager. I have no doubt he didn't submit the documentation at the end of your first internship.

What exactly did you accomplish by flipping off your manager? Other than an assload of karma. I hope he makes your life hell so you can learn a lesson. YDI

I seen this saying in Facebook all the time, "He who stirs the shit pot should have to lick the spoon."
