Today, I got fired from my new waitress job after 2 shifts. They said I wasn't experienced enough to handle the fast pace. I thought I'd been doing well so I asked my friend who works there what really happened. Apparently not showing my boobs enough at a family place was grounds for dismissal. FML

That is so unfair. Don't loose your self respect for a job.

You don't want to work at a place like that anyways. You deserve a better job where they actually treat their employees with self respect.

As a food service lifer, I'm deeply offended for you. You should never sacrifice self respect for a job. I'm curious of the dress code too.. usually restaurants have a pretty uniform dress code in my experience. Go find a job that values your work ethic above physical attributes.

Maybe by "family" restaurant she meant twin peaks. Sad to say I've actually seen people take their families (including wife & multiple young kids) there.

Were you working at hooters or something? why is showing ample cleavage a necessity?

I certainly hope OP doesn't work at hooters, considering she mentioned it being a family venue

The Hooter's in my area lists itself as a family restaurant so that's still a possibility. However I think everyone would know that Hooter's shows a lot of boob so a much less likely possibility.

Pretty sure there's other opportunities where you'll be more appreciated while maintaining your self respect. Don't sweat it, OP.

Your friend should have kept you a-breast of the dress code there. Shame on her.

The boobstory kinda sounds like a horney male friends way of softening The blow

Haha does sound like something a guy would say. 2 shifts doesn't sound like enough to judge someone on though unless they were just awful.

Be glad you got fired. Now is your chance to find a job with respectable people. I commend you for your modesty.

Well, maybe partially exposing breasts is a requirement...in the fine print of the position.

honestly, getting fired from there was a blessing. now you can go work for someone who actually needs your help, not your body. + you get to keep your priceless self respect :)

Can't you sue them?! That's totally unfair dismissal. And totally inappropriate for a family restaurant lol

According to her employer she couldn't keep up. Any lawyer with half a brain is going to call it a shakedown.
